Some breeds of domestic goats faint when they are scared.
Known as a ‘myotonic’ breed of goat, its muscles completely freeze for about ten seconds if it becomes scared. This usually results in the goat falling over on its side.
The extreme reaction is due to a genetic condition that the myotonic goat is born with. Not so good from an evolutionary perspective, as they would be easy prey. But many people find this behaviour amusing and, for this very reason, choose to have them as pets.
Even you might fall over sideways when you see how many YouTube videos there are about these hilarious goats!
